So, the collection is here: Apple has just started placing the individual components of its new Creator Studio subscription package in the App Store. Available are Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro in version 12.0 (Digital Audio Workstation, video editing, Mac; iPad in version 3.0), the first true Apple version of Pixelmator Pro (4.0, image editor; Mac and iPad), as well as updates for Motion (6.0, animation), Compressor (5.0, mastering) and MainStage (4.0, live performances, all Mac). All apps for all platforms now cost a hefty 12.99 euros per month or 130 euros per year.
Confusion about duplicate apps
Pixelmator Pro 4 requires macOS 26, the other apps also run on macOS 15. The iPad versions of Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Pixelmator Pro require iPadOS 26. Updates for Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie have also been released. While parts of the iWork suite remain free, Creator Studio subscribers receive extras in the form of premium content like templates. We couldn't determine exactly what this is yet. Later, premium content for Freeform will also be added, which also remains free of charge. Confusingly: Apple is now providing two versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.

Updated via the App Store, it goes to version 14.5. If you start it, you'll be notified that there will be no more updates for it in the future and you should download a new version. The link leads to the App Store, where you get version 15.1 of the apps. These are installed parallel to version 14.5, so you have two versions on your computer. No data is transferred, which is likely to confuse many. The pro apps are also now duplicated: those who paid for them previously receive updates normally and the icons don't change. In parallel, pure Creator Studio versions are available in the App Store via the links above, which can only be subscribed to and not purchased. It's best not to run both versions on your Mac simultaneously, as the wrong version might open.
Studio Prices and Single Purchase
Users who are eligible for educational discounts, for example as students and teachers, receive the package significantly cheaper for 2.99 euros per month or 29 euros per year. The subscription can be shared with up to six people via Family Sharing.
Fortunately, one-time purchases are also available. The prices have not changed: Final Cut Pro (349.99 euros), Logic Pro (229.99 euros), Pixelmator Pro (59.99 euros), Motion (59.99 euros), Compressor (59.99 euros), and MainStage (34.99 euros). With Creator Studio, Apple continues its course towards subscriptions for professional and creative apps. Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad have always only been available for rent.
AI Features Partly Only in English
The apps have been visually adapted more closely to Liquid Glass, the icons have been significantly changed in some cases, to the point of being unusual. The new functions concern, among other things, AI, but there are no adaptations to the German language. This applies, for example, to automatic subtitling in Final Cut Pro. In English, you can search content directly by text input and even find objects. An AI-powered beat detection cuts to music. Vertical videos on the iPad are now automated. Logic Pro has an AI chord detection, a new synth player, and on the iPad, a sound browser that can now be searched using natural language. Pixelmator Pro reaches the iPad for the first time, uses Apple Pencil, and brings Super Resolution to the tablet.
Apple promises subscribers one month of free access to Creator Studio. After that, payment is required. It remains unclear whether the iWork programs and Freeform will be increasingly restricted and whether functions will also move into the rental offer in the future, in addition to premium content. Pages, Numbers, and Keynote have not been available for purchase for years; they were made free when purchasing a Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
