Xiaomi has already been producing cars in China for some time, and it also wants to expand into Europe. Next year, the Xiaomi SU7 and the YU7 are also set to be available in Germany. At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, the Chinese company is showcasing a vehicle that will likely never make it to market in this form: the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.

The Vision Gran Turismo is intended to show how Xiaomi envisions a hypercar. To this end, they have opted for a teardrop-shaped cockpit design, for example, which does not incorporate conventional seats. Instead, you sit in fixed shells, practically integrated into the bodywork. Magnetically attached trim panels are located above the wheels; they do not rotate with the wheel but remain in a fixed orientation. This is intended to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

The rear of the concept vehicle is particularly striking. The taillight, shaped like a long LED strip, wraps around the chassis in a halo-like fashion, with only the top section being interrupted. Next to it, aerodynamic channels can be seen, which are designed to guide airflow correctly and minimize turbulence. Xiaomi summarizes the entire design under the designation “Sculpted by the Wind”.

Should the hypercar ever actually be built, it could challenge the SU7 for its record on the NĂĽrburgring Nordschleife. Last June, Xiaomi set an official lap record there with a time of 7:04.957, making it the fastest premium electric car.
