Apple offers spare parts for new products for self-repair – including displays
More products are available in the iPhone manufacturer's repair shop. Spare parts for the MacBook Neo, Studio Display XDR, and more are now covered.

Anyone interested in self-repairing Apple products should take a look at the official Self-Service-Repair Store of the group. Now not only repair manuals for the new devices, which were released in recent weeks, can be found there, but also plenty of new spare parts. The offer is available in many EU countries, Canada, and the USA, and Apple also sells matching tools for special repairs, some of which can also be rented.
Lots of new hardware in the shop
As part of the Self-Service-Repair Program (SSRP), iPhone 17e, MacBook Neo, MacBook Air M5, MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max, iPad Air M4, as well as Studio Display 2026 and Studio Display XDR can now also be repaired. The most important spare parts are offered for the models, including housings, logic boards, displays, and more. All are “genuine”, meaning they come from Apple and its suppliers. Among other things, the keyboard of the MacBook Neo without the top case is made available, which saves a lot of waste.

With the Studio Display XDR, Apple goes into detail. For example, individual fans, including cables or ambient light sensors, can be purchased. Currently, many places in the Self-Service-Repair Store still lack images, which does not make selection easy – you have to find the desired component via text search. In some cases, Apple does not release information unless you enter a serial number beforehand. This includes the actual display on the Studio Display XDR.
Spare parts and time
As usual, the prices are sometimes steep. A complete top case of a MacBook Pro including keyboard, costs almost 700 Euros. It remained unclear at first whether the battery was included – in one place Apple names it, in another it does not. In principle, repairs within the SSRP are considered not really cheap – in addition to the spare parts and rental costs for special hardware, there is also the labor time.
In some cases, it can be worthwhile to ask Apple for a repair cost estimate. The new devices for which spare parts are now available are also still all under warranty; for hardware problems not caused by the user, Apple's service should be the first point of contact.
