The video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro 26.2 has received a newly developed environment for color correction. After Effects 26.2 is said to be able to cleanly mask and track people and objects thanks to AI. And the cloud platform Frame.io will stream video content in the future.
Premiere Pro: Color Correction in Color Mode
Users can perform color corrections directly in the edit in "Color Mode" without having to switch to a separate environment. The video remains visible in full size.
First, you adjust exposure, contrast, or color temperature. Then you edit individual image areas or develop looks. Premiere Pro shows whether an adjustment affects only one clip or an entire sequence. The Color Mode is intended to grow with the users' demands. Beginners should be able to work with a few controls, and professionals can develop complex color looks.

Overview in Complex Projects
A new search function helps users working with extensive projects. It makes the timeline searchable not only superficially but down to the clip level. Premiere Pro creates an index with clip names, tracks, effects, markers, and other metadata. The search can also be filtered by clips, effects, or markers.

After Effects: AI-Powered Masking
In addition to color correction, Adobe has added AI tools for object selection and masking. Moving subjects should be quickly isolated, edges precisely edited, and fine details like hair cleanly captured. Adobe combines image analysis, object recognition, and motion tracking to recognize typical objects such as people, faces, clothing, or items.

Frame.io Streams Videos
A new desktop application for the cloud service Frame.io Drive integrates video projects like a local drive. Files can be used in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or After Effects without downloading or synchronizing. Instead of sending or copying files, teams access a common data pool simultaneously. This eliminates problems like version conflicts or delayed data transfer. Content is streamed on demand, and a cache ensures smooth playback.
Prices and Availability
According to Adobe, the updates for Premiere Pro and After Effects are available for download immediately for Creative Cloud customers. Adobe plans to introduce the Frame.io app gradually and initially only for enterprise customers. The all-inclusive Creative Cloud Pro subscription costs 78 euros per month. A single subscription for Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects costs 26 euros per month each.
