Quick update: Parallels Desktop 26.3.2 fixes numerous bugs
It's more than the usual stability and security improvements that the latest update for Parallels' VM solution addresses. Here's what's included.

Users of the most popular commercial virtualization app for macOS, Parallels Desktop, should check the update function: The update to version 26.3.2 has been available for a few days. This is not just a “normal” version number increase with bug fixes and security improvements – the latest macOS version 26.4 fixes various problems that are currently making daily work difficult.
Windows VMs unusable under certain circumstances
This particularly affects the operation of Windows VMs, which had become practically unusable with certain functions recently. It is unclear how such a concentration of errors occurred in a comparatively late version. It is conceivable that Apple at least partially triggered the issues with the update to macOS 26.4.

With Windows VMs, OpenGL applications were initially broken on Apple Silicon Macs. 3D rendering simply stopped, showing either a blank window or distortion effects. Apps like PirateStorm, coDiagnostiX, or Pcon Planner, which were impacted, should now work again with Parallels Desktop 26.3.2.
Copy & Paste broken, as well as opening files on Mac
Furthermore, it was no longer possible to open Windows files directly in macOS apps as usual, including Office documents and file types intended for macOS Preview. This only occurred under macOS 26.4. The same applied to the extremely important copy and paste function. This also failed completely under macOS 26.4. Finally, PDFs coming from apps like Outlook (Classic) could not be opened in Adobe Acrobat or Preview on the Mac.
The previous version of Parallels Desktop 26 (26.3.1) already fixed important bugs. For example, there were DNS responses not being passed on to the VMs and difficulties with Secure Boot under Windows. Steam also didn't want to run in Windows 11. Version 26.3.0, in turn, ensured that when creating new Windows 11 VMs, the current version 25H2 was installed on the SSD. The assistant for new Windows VMs is one of the most popular, because most practical features within Parallels Desktop. However, it previously forced users to manually install 25H2.
