The digital education platform Fobizz has recently become easier to use via its own app on mobile devices. Since the end of April, it has been available for both Android and Apple devices in the respective app stores. Previously, Fobizz could only be used via the browser. The app does not incur any additional costs for users.

Fobizz is provided, among other things, to teachers in Rhineland-Palatinate, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Saxony-Anhalt through state licenses. There, they can use further training offers, exchange teaching and learning materials, or use AI tools specifically tailored to the school service. The use of various popular large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Llama, Mistral, or Qwen is implemented via the platform in a GDPR-compliant manner, as Fobizz places its own proxy server in front of all AI interfaces. From the perspective of the model providers, there is therefore only a single Fobizz account. According to the company, neither user IDs nor IP addresses are transmitted to model providers, and all infrastructure providers used are ISO 27001 certified.

Teachers can receive support in their work through the provided AI tools, but can also make them accessible to students in the classroom. The app is initially intended to enable easier use of AI chat and AI assistants and supports both camera upload and voice input. Fobizz plans to advance further development based on usage interviews with teachers.

The German EdTech start-up is now focusing not only on the German education market but is also active internationally. Luxembourg acquired a state license last year, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is making the Fobizz offering available to its lecturers worldwide after a trial period.
