Slim gaming PC Asus ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 with GeForce RTX 5090
Asus celebrates 20 years of the Republic of Gamers brand with a powerful variant of the compact Next Unit of Computing PC series.

The Taiwanese manufacturer Asus is packing the mobile version of the most powerful gaming graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5090, into the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 gaming PC. It also features Intel's 24-core Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor. The entire PC is only 5.6 centimeters slim. The occasion for the special edition is the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand at the IT trade fair Computex. In 2006, the manufacturer launched it with the AM2 mainboard Crosshair and the nForce 590 SLI chipset for Athlon 64 processors.
Up to now, the ROG NUC 16 only housed a GeForce RTX 5080 at most; now it is also available with the RTX 5090 and 24 instead of 16 GB of graphics memory and 10,496 instead of 7680 shader cores. Due to the compact housing, space for the cooler is limited, which is why Asus uses the mobile variant with a lower thermal budget.

Powerful Mobile Processor
Asus also relies on mobile technology for the CPU: The ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 is equipped with the Arrow Lake chip Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with 24 cores, eight of which are performance cores and 16 are efficiency cores. Further features include two DDR5-6400 CSODIMMs with 32 GB of memory capacity each, an M.2 SSD with 2 TB and PCI Express 5.0 interface, Wi-Fi 7, and Windows 11. The price of the compact gaming PC is expected to be well over 5000 euros. In Germany, it will not be available for the time being due to the ongoing patent dispute with Nokia. However, if there is great interest, a purchase in an EU country would be possible.
