AMDs Stream SDK 1.4 verfügbar
Die neue Version 1.4 von AMDs Stream-Enwicklungsumgebung bietet unter anderem eine verbesserte Unterstützung für Microsofts Visual Studio 2008 und unterstützt nun auch die Radeon HD 4870 X2.
Mit der Version 1.4 hat AMD eine neue Version der Entwicklungsumgebung (SDK) Stream herausgebracht, mit der sich die Rechenleistung der Shader-Prozessoren von AMD-Grafikkarten für rechenintensive Anwendungen nutzen lässt. Neben der herkömmlichen Windows-Version (XP/Vista) bietet AMD das neue SDK ebenso als 32- und 64-Bit-Version für die Linux-Distributionen Red Hat Enterprise 5.1 und Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2 zum Download an.
Mit dem neuen Release beherrscht der Compiler Brook+ nun auch 8- und 16-Bit-Datentypen, die Interoperabilität mit der DirectX-API und bietet eine verbesserte Unterstützung für Microsofts Visual Studio 2008. Auch mehrere Grafikchips (GPUs) können nun in einem Programm angesprochen werden. Hinzu kommt die Unterstützung für die Dual-GPU-Grafikkarten Radeon HD 4870 X2 und HD 3870 X2 und die Profi-Modelle FirePro 3D V8750, V8700, V7770, V7750, V5700 and V3750.

o Support for memory pinning to optimize data transfers.
o Support for asynchronous stream write requests.

o Support for texture sampling (bilinear).
o Support for FETCH4.
Support for the ATI Radeon HD 4870X2 and 3870X2.
Support for the ATI FirePro 3D V8750, V8700, V7770, V7750, V5700 and V3750.
