At its in-house conference "Canva Create", the software manufacturer Canva announced a simplified and revised interface as well as a new subscription model for companies, which is available immediately.
The "Canva Enterprise" subscription supports multiple teams in a single account as well as security-relevant functions such as encryption, System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM) and single sign-on. Corporate accounts can be managed centrally by an administrator. This also includes design elements and templates that maintain a consistent brand image.

Redesigned user interface
Canva wants to help occasional graphic designers to create appealing designs in a simple way with its web app of the same name. The Canva Visual Suite is used to create documents, whiteboards, presentations, social media posts, videos and websites.
Registered users can use stock photos and videos, illustrations and fonts as well as an integrated AI image generator. Templates can be dragged and dropped onto the document area. The template preview disappears automatically in the new interface, freeing up more space.
A context-sensitive toolbar also takes up less space than the previous one and should not distract you with an unnecessarily large number of buttons. It places frequently used tools such as the one-click background remover and other AI tools in the foreground. Canva plans to make the new user interface available to all users from August.
AI tools
Canva comes with a number of AI tools. "Magic Write" modifies and writes texts. The tool, which is based on OpenAI GPT-4, now generates texts in the "personal tone of voice" or "brand tone of voice". It should be enough to explain to the software in a few words how the style should look, for example sober and concise or flowery and playful.
Magic Switch changes the format and aspect ratio of social media posts for multiple channels. The "Magic Media" tools generate images, videos and graphics. Canva removes the background not only in photos, but also in videos. It also removes background noise if desired, for example to make speech easier to understand.
Company-specific templates
Workspaces can be customized in the future. This allows companies to pin their own templates, folders and designs in a visible place. Canva also promises a more comprehensive search function. Comments from colleagues can be filtered, sorted, expanded or hidden for a better overview.
The "Canva Work Kits" bring together templates for the "Human Resources", "Sales", "Marketing" and "Creative" departments. They can be used to create job advertisements, sales reports, social media posts or newsletters.
With "Bulk Create", many graphics that differ only minimally can be created in one go. These can be tiles with speakers for a conference, for example. Sales teams can use an autofill function to transfer data from Salesforce and other linked sources into presentations.
According to the manufacturer, templates can be adapted to your own brand using the "Brand Kit". Canva courses and work kits are designed to make it easier to get started.
