Apple TV app for Android: Job ad gives hope
So far, the TV application, which allows users to watch Apple TV+, among others, is not available for Android, although numerous other platforms are covered.

Apple may finally be on the verge of releasing an official version of the TV app for Android smartphones. So far, the company has not provided owners of such phones with the application. In addition to Apple's streaming service TV+, this app can also be used to watch other channels, sport and films and series that can be purchased individually. Android expert wanted
However, Apple now appears to be directly interested in an Android version. However, a simple port of the Android TV app does not seem to be enough. The position is advertised for San Diego and not for Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. "The Apple TV app team is looking for a proactive, hardworking and experienced Senior Android Engineer to lead the development of new features and help build an application used by millions of people to watch and discover TV and sports," the company writes.
Working on the app for several years
The job is available immediately and will pay between 131,500 and 243,300 US dollars a year plus shares. The developer should be specialized in Java or Kotlin. Jetpack skills are also required. Work is 40 hours per week. The developer will be part of the team that is already working on the other app versions, including those for Apple platforms and Windows.
Apple currently offers Apple Music, Apple Music Classical , the "Move to iOS" switching app , Tracker Detectfor recognizing AirTagsand its own control app for devices from its subsidiary Beats for Android. The company has been working on an Android version of the Apple TV appfor several years.It remains unclear why it is still not available.
