Geekbench: New AI test for iOS, iPadOS and macOS, Windows and Android
Apple devices versus Windows and Android: Geekbench has now completed the beta of its AI test suite. There is also a professional version.

It has been tested since last winter and is now officially ready: this week, Geekbench launched a new suite of benchmarks for artificial intelligence capabilities. Originally called Geekbench ML (ML stands for machine learning), the benchmark is now called Geekbench AI (for artificial intelligence). As with previous Geekbench versions, version 1.0 allows Apple devices, Android and Windows to be tested - Apple currently tests Mac, iPad and iPhone.
First ranking is already available
An initial ranking has also already been published. Geekbench divides its AI tests into three areas: Single Precision, Half Precision and Quantized. Graphics cards from the RTX 4090 series lead in the single precision and half precision values, while iPads with M4 SoCs lead the quantized result. Further data such as processor frequency, technology, cores and RAM can be called up for each listed device. There also appear to be some error messages, with numerous Macs and other devices only being listed with one point in all categories.

Geekbench also continues to publish results from the beta phase with Geekbench ML- here the values are also separated according to CPU, GPU and NPU (for Apple: Neural Engine), which would also be desirable for Geekbench AI. However, it is currently no longer possible to download Geekbench ML; you will be redirected to Geekbench AI.
AI results from the real world
Geekbench promises that Geekbench AI can test the "real-world performance" of devices in the AI field. "Geekbench AI is a cross-platform AI benchmark that uses real-world machine learning tasks to evaluate the performance of AI workloads. Geekbench AI measures your CPU, GPU and NPU to determine if your device is ready for the current and future cutting-edge machine learning applications," write the creators.
In addition to the free standard version, Geekbench also offers a professional version of the AI benchmark for 99 US dollars. It can be used in standalone mode, can process results both online and offline and offers an automation mode.
