Deutsche Telekom: Discounted Apple TV+ for one year
As part of an advertising campaign, Apple's streaming service TV+ can be subscribed to at a significantly lower price –, but only by a specific target group.

There was a time when subscribing to Apple TV+ was a negligible expense: after a long free period, you only had to pay €4.99 a month if you didn't take out an annual subscription. However, after several price increases, the cost has now almost doubled to 9.99 euros. Although this is still cheaper than Netflix, the service lacks the extensive back catalog of its competitors. Now you can get TV+ for (almost) the same price for a short time: Deutsche Telekom is currently running a promotion together with Apple.
Complex package design
As part of this, you can get Apple TV+ for twelve months at a price of 6 euros instead of 10 euros. However, this only applies to MagentaTV customers and requires a one-year commitment to the service. A Telekom Internet contract is not absolutely necessary, it is sufficient to purchase the Telekom streaming package. This in turn costs extra. In the "Smart 2.0" version, you get six months free of charge (plus Apple TV+ fee) for a total term of 24 months; from the 7th month onwards, a monthly fee of EUR 10 is charged.

The improved "SmartStream 2.0" subscription with Netflix and Disney entry-level subscription (with advertising) costs €17 per month from the 7th month, again for a total term of 24 months. In addition, there may be a €5 rental fee for a set-top box (which costs €89 individually), but an Apple TV with tvOS app can also be used. From the 13th month, the Apple TV+ discount expires and you pay €3.99 per month more, i.e. the standard €9.99.
Also with Internet if necessary
MagentaTV also includes around 180 TV channels, 150 of which are in HD. It also includes a "MagentaTV+" media library, which is supposed to be included, the option of time-shifted TV viewing (100 hours of recording memory), three simultaneous streams and an integrated RTL+ premium (also with the Smart 2.0 subscription). Disney and Netflix are also available without advertising for an additional charge.
The tariffs can also be booked flexibly, but then there are fewer goodies in the package, such as no RTL+ Premium and a shorter recording memory. Deutsche Telekom also sells MagentaTV as part of its own Internet packages with different tariff levels.
