Apple's iPhone 2024 keynote starts at 7 p.m. Shortly before the event, there are fresh rumors about the products that Apple will present – and also about those that will have to be waited for.
AirPods Max on the way after all
The usually well-informed Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman believes that Apple will be presenting its AirPods Max in a second generation on Monday after all. He writes on X that he now expects better noise cancellation, adaptives Audio as with the AirPods Pro 2 – possibly thanks to a new H2 chip – and USB-C.
The new AirPods Max would be launched at the same time as the AirPods 4, even if the devices are currently still readily available in Apple stores.
Apple Watch without Ultra 3?
There are supposedly a few surprises in store for the Apple Watch. Although the Series 10 is set to be released with a larger screen and thinner casing and will later be able to detect sleep apnea (via an update), 9to5Mac also predicts an improved heart rate sensor with better water resistance. However, Apple is not initially planning blood pressure monitoring, as it is too inaccurate with the existing sensors.
According to Gurman, however, there are no plans for an Apple Watch Ultra 3, which had long been expected in the rumor mill. Now the Bloomberg man claims to have learned that Apple will not be able to do this (any more). The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made similar claims a year ago. Instead, the Bloomberg journalist now only believes in an Ultra 2 in a black titanium color. That would be rather unusual, as the Ultra has been released every year so far. Even the plastic Apple Watch SE could be delayed. However, Gurman had already been spectacularly wrong about Apple's computer watches in the past, believing in a completely new, more angular design that never came.
iPhone, iPads, Macs with M4
There is new speculation about 4K recording at 120 fps for the iPhone 16 Pro. Apple is also reportedly testing 8K video recording, as the sensor would be large enough for this. As for the colors of the Titan models, a new brown or gold tone is expected this time.
However, a new iPad mini is unlikely. Apple doesn't seem to be planning this before October, when a Mac event with M4 machines is also scheduled, according to the press.
