Case leak: iPhone SE 4 probably without additional buttons
The first Chinese manufacturers are marketing alleged cases for Apple's next entry-level iPhone – and they reveal hardware details.
The iPhone SE 4 will be based on the iPhone 14. The camera is likely to change.

Apple's next big iPhone launch is likely to be the iPhone SE 4, the latest incarnation of the entry-level smartphone. The revised hardware is currently expected to be released in spring 2025, possibly in March or April. Now there is new speculation about the hardware equipment: in Asia, the first manufacturers of iPhone cases have presented suitable products for the new model. Above all, they show what the SE 4 probably doesn't have.
New inner workings, old look: only slightly newer than before
It is currently expected that the iPhone SE 4 will be based on the design of the iPhone 14 standard model. It would therefore have an OLED screen with a (relatively) up-to-date casing and Dynamic Island for the first time. The inner workings, on the other hand, are expected to be completely new: presumably with Apple A18 for Apple Intelligence and – for the very first time – its own 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip from Apple itself. (The company has been working on this for many years in Munich and elsewhere.) In addition, 8 GB of RAM (also for Apple Intelligence) is apparently planned.

According to the latest case leak, however, modern buttons do not appear to be planned: the images from China circulated by X leaker Sony Dickson do not show any suitable cut-outs. According to this, the iPhone SE 4 will neither have an action button nor a camera control, which Apple uses in all iPhone 16 models. This would differentiate the iPhone SE 4 from these models.
iPhone SE 4 likely to remain on sale for several years
You can also see the camera cut-out, which is horizontal instead of vertical. Apple will presumably only install a single image sensor with flash here, which could be on a par with the iPhone 15 (48 megapixels). Ultra-wide angle or spatial video recording will remain outside. As mentioned, the cover also looks like Apple is keeping its silent button as before and not replacing it with the action button. The button was reserved for the Pro models in the iPhone 15, and Apple apparently still considers it too "modern" for the SE.
As usual, the new SE 4 will probably remain on the market for years. The current SE 3 dates from 2022, the predecessor model from 2020. The company is likely to try to push the price down to under 530 euros – In Android territory, that's a lot of money; for iPhones, it's an entry-level price. For comparison: without a contract, you pay at least 949 euros for an iPhone 16 in the smallest version without a contract.
