Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro: Smartphone duo with Mediatek processors
Xiaomi uses chips from Mediatek for the T-series, Qualcomm is left out. A foldable from Xiaomi is also coming.

The T series marks the halfway point between Xiaomi's flagship models. The new 14T and 14T Pro models are just below the luxury class in terms of features, but also cost a little less.
Xiaomi charges between 800 and 1000 euros for the 14T Pro, depending on the memory size. There is a 100 euro difference between the 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions, and they all have 12 GB of RAM. At launch, Xiaomi is selling the largest model with 1 TByte of internal memory for 900 euros. Xiaomi is adding a tablet to the market launch for orders placed by October 11; the Redmi Pad Pro actually has an RRP of 300 euros. It is available in stores from around 225 euros.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro has a processor from Mediatek inside. The eight-core Dimensity 9300+ has four powerful Cortex X4 cores on board, one of which is clocked at a maximum of 3.4 GHz and the rest at up to 2.85 GHz. There are also four Cortex-A720s. Mediatek has also completely dispensed with power-saving efficiency cores here. The chip delivers a lot of performance and is on a par with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in most benchmarks.

The display of the 14T Pro measures 6.67 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. The maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz. Although we were unable to measure the peak brightness of up to 4000 cd/m² claimed by Xiaomi, at around 1500 cd/m² the screen is also very bright in normal operation and easy to read in all positions. Both the 14T Pro and the 14T, which has the same display, have no rounded edges; the displays are completely flat.
The cameras on the 14T Pro were developed together with Leica. The system at the rear consists of a main camera with a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor, a triple telephoto lens with 50 megapixels and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle. At the front is a selfie camera with 32 megapixels. As usual, the 5000 mAh battery is permanently installed and can be charged via cable with a maximum of 120 watts and wirelessly with up to 50 watts, but only with a Xiaomi charging station. The casing of the 14T Pro is made of glass, which is held together by a metal frame.

Xiaomi 14T with less power
The Xiaomi 14T with 12/256 GByte costs 650 euros, those who want double the internal memory pay 700 euros. The low price is already noticeable on the outside: the 14T has a plastic frame instead of metal. If ordered by October 11, the Redmi Pad Pro is also included with the 14T at no extra charge. Xiaomi no longer includes chargers in the box, but you can order them for the symbolic price of 99 cents.
The Mediatek Dimensity 8300 Ultra in the smartphone is between a quarter and a third below the 9300+ in the benchmark values. Nevertheless, the 14T is fast in everyday use and can also handle higher-resolution videos and games. The battery of the 14T also has a capacity of 5000 mAh, but only charges via cable and with a maximum of 67 watts. The main camera also has 50 megapixels, but a different sensor than in the Pro, namely the Sony IMX906. The 50 megapixel has a slightly shorter focal length than in the Pro (50 instead of 60 mm). The ultra-wide angle and front camera are identical to the Pro.
Both smartphones run Android 14 in the Xiaomi version called HyperOS. Striking: Xiaomi delivers both smartphones with a lot of bloatware, with many more apps pre-installed than on other devices in this price range. Xiaomi promises to send the devices updates for five years.

First Xiaomi foldable for Germany
The Xiaomi Mix Flip was launched in China in July and is now also available in Germany. The small foldable costs 1300 euros and is the first foldable smartphone that Xiaomi is officially bringing to Germany. The Flip has an almost square display with a 4-inch diagonal on the outside and a foldable screen with a diagonal of 6.86 inches and a resolution of 2912 x 1224 pixels on the inside. Weighing around 190 grams, the flip is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and has 12/512 GB of memory. It is also equipped with Leica cameras, the main camera and ultra-wide-angle camera have sensors with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The Mix Flip has a battery with a capacity of 4780 mAh and also runs Android 14 and HyperOS.
