Skoda Enyaq facelift: New front, previous technology
Following the technical upgrade at the end of 2023, the popular Enyaq will now undergo a visual overhaul, which will primarily change the front.

Skoda has achieved amazing things with the Enyaq. Despite the problems with the modular electric car platform, which also affected this Volkswagen model, the Enyaq was one of the most popular electric cars in the EU last year. The fact that Skoda has eliminated the most serious weaknesses with a comprehensive model upgrade is likely to have contributed significantly to this. The e-SUV charges faster than before, and the infotainment has now reached a level that is at least not annoying. After updating the technology a good year ago, the design has now been revised.

)Fresh front
Manufacturers sometimes strive for recognition, and Skoda is no exception. The Enyaq has therefore been given a front that is reminiscent of the smaller Elroq that has just been presented. Whether this is visually successful will certainly be seen differently. The headlights slide down a little, and a little further up there is a continuous strip of lights. Skoda calls it the “Tech-Deck-Face” – an artificial name with no more in-depth meaning.

A direct comparison of the previous and new model reveals tiny changes in the dimensions. The front overhang increases by 9 mm from 860 mm. The rear track width has been reduced from 1566 to 1561 mm. The rear slope angle has increased from 16.7 to 18.1 degrees.

Technology: As before
Technically, however, nothing has changed. There are still two batteries with 60 and 77 kWh energy content in both body variants of the Enyaq. They are coupled to the electric motors with 150 and 210 kW system output. The rear-wheel drive model with 210 kW can charge with up to 135 kW, the all-wheel drive model with a maximum of 175 kW. The battery with updated cell chemistry, for which VW specifies the key data of 79 kWh and 185 kW charging power and which is installed in the VW ID.3 GTX, for example, is still not available in the Enyaq. A variant with all-wheel drive and 250 kW will follow somewhat later in the Enyaq RS. Important for fast charging, even in winter: Preconditioning of the battery is now standard equipment in the Enyaq. Under the conditions of the WLTP, Skoda promises a range of 440 km in the base model; up to 590 km should be possible in one go with the rear-wheel drive model with a large battery.

)Price? Still unclear!
It has not yet been revealed exactly when the revised Enyaq will be available at dealers in Germany. Skoda also did not want to comment on possible price changes in advance. However, if Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer announces more extensive standard equipment and new digital features, customers will probably have to expect a small surcharge. However, this is by no means certain in the European 2025 car market. This is because the stricter fleet consumption requirements will mean that manufacturers will have to increase the proportion of electric cars to avoid heavy fines.
