Skoda has unveiled the new sporty top model of its battery-electric compact SUV. The 250Â kW Elroq RS has electric all-wheel drive, which means that one electric motor drives the front axle and one drives the rear axle. It promises a WLTP range of over 550Â km and a maximum DC charging power of 185Â kW. This should allow the Elroq RS to be charged from 10 to 80Â percent (SoC) in 26Â minutes at a fast-charging station. Unfortunately, it only manages 11Â kW at the AC charging station. The decidedly sporty Elroq RS completes the standard sprint in 5.4Â seconds and is limited to 180Â km/h.

The RS version of the Elroq is, of course, sharpened up with numerous black applications, notches and edges to suggest dynamism. In addition, only the fastest Elroq can be upgraded to 21-inch wheels on request. The presentation color Mamba Green is only available for the RS. Skoda upholsters the interior with a synthetic fiber, including poison green contrast stitching. The RS comes as standard with an improved brake system with two-piston callipers, a sports suspension with adaptive dampers and speed-dependent steering assistance (Skoda term: progressive steering).

Other standard features in the RS version include matrix lighting, an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory and massage function (all this costs extra for the front passenger). The RS also comes with the largest infotainment package with head-up display and augmented reality as standard. Smartphones can be charged wirelessly with 15 watts, and the inductive charging surface is also cooled. A new feature in the Elroq RS is a “Traction” driving program in the driving profile selection, which conditions the all-wheel drive on low-grip surfaces. If desired, the Elroq RS can also be parked remotely using a smartphone app.
Skoda has not yet said anything about the price or delivery date of the Elroq RS. The most expensive Elroq 85 Sportline to date starts at 48,400Â euros; it is reasonable to speculate that the minimum price for the RS will be significantly more than 50,000Â euros.
