Electric SUV Lucid Gravity coming to Germany from the USA in the fall

The electric car brand Lucid from the USA is launching its first SUV model, the Gravity. It was unveiled at the LA Auto Show in mid-November 2024, and the luxurious seven-seater with all-wheel drive will also be available in Germany from September.
Three years after introducing the Lucid Air luxury saloon, the electric car start-up from Silicon Valley near San Francisco is now launching an electric SUV model. The Lucid Gravity model is similar in substance to electric car models such as the Mercedes EQS or BMW X7 (test), which its manufacturer identifies as competitors. However, its technology is designed to enable faster charging.

)Special technical features include the standard air suspension with automatic level control and all-wheel steering, which, in addition to the familiar handling advantages, should limit the turning circle to 11.5 meters despite the wide wheelbase and drive shafts on both axles. Lucid specifies the wheel sizes as 20 to 23 inches, depending on the version and equipment.
Charge up to 400 km in 20 minutes
At 5.03 meters long, 1.66 meters high and just under 2.2 meters wide (with mirrors), the Lucid Gravity offers space for three rows of seats thanks to its wheelbase of just over three meters. The rear two rows can be quickly folded into the floor so that, according to the manufacturer, a maximum of over 3000 liters of luggage space is available, if you add the more than 200 liters of space in the frunk. A curved instrument panel is located – similar to the Peugeot, but significantly larger – above the steering wheel. The 12.6-inch central screen is located right below in the middle.

)The two engines achieve up to 609 kW and a maximum torque of over 1100 Nm. With this much power, distributed over all four wheels, the 2.8-tonner accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and is capable of speeds of up to 270 km/h. The high towing capacity of up to 2700 kg for an electric car is of interest to yacht and horse owners.
The battery has a capacity of 123 kWh, which should amount to a range of more than 700 kilometers in the WLTP. With a voltage level of 900 volts, up to 400 kW can flow, which, according to the manufacturer, ideally enables a very high charging speed. Electricity for 400 kilometers should be available in less than 20 minutes. However, the range and charging speed are still provisional.

Lucid has not yet set a price. The starting price should be just under 100,000 euros.
