Kia is launching the first passenger car version of its battery-electric PV5 Passenger minibus on our markets and is today announcing the prices for the first model variants available in Germany. The car in the format of a VW ID.Buzz (test) is the first model to follow the "Platform Beyond Vehicle" strategy. This refers to a technical basis whose modularity and flexibility should, according to Kia, enable a wide range of vehicle variants.
The almost 4.70 meter long, front-wheel drive minibus with electric sliding doors is initially available as a five-seater. It offers up to 2300 liters of luggage space and a maximum towing capacity of 1500 kilograms. The charging time for all 400-volt-based Kias is between 29 and 31 minutes for 10 to 80 percent. Depending on the battery size, the PV5 has an engine output of up to 120 kW and a maximum torque of 250 Nm.
Initially with five seats, later with seven
The five-seater, which can be ordered immediately, is leading the way. It is offered with two battery sizes, 51.5 or 71.2 kWh, and is available in three equipment lines: Essential, Plus and Elite. Kia also promises a comprehensive range of assistance and infotainment equipment. Further variants including a seven-seater, a six-seater cab and a wheelchair-accessible version will follow. It will then also be possible to "optimize the three rows of seats for luggage or camping scenarios".

Prices start at 38,290 euros for the model with a 51.5 kWh battery. 42,290 euros is the base price for the version with the 71.2 kWh battery. As usual, Kia offers a seven-year manufacturer's warranty (or 150,000 km) and an eight-year battery warranty (or 160,000 km), with the first deliveries expected from mid-November.

The technically related commercial vehicle variant, the PV5 Cargo panel van for 32,933 euros, is available with two wheelbases (standard: 4.70 m long, 1.90 m wide and 1.90 m high) and also as a high-roof version. Kia also offers a 43.3 kWh battery in this version. Craftsmen and other practice-oriented users can order an airline rail system and benefit from the VL2 capability for supplying external electrical devices.
