The Swabian humanoid start-up Neura Robotics apparently wants to position itself for global competition: The company from Metzingen in Baden-WĂĽrttemberg has started talks to raise around one billion euros in capital, according to a Bloomberg report.
Bloomberg reports this with reference to several anonymous sources from the Neura environment. According to the report, preparations for the debut of the company's own humanoid are underway and the startup is currently seeking talks with potential investors. The robot in question is called 4NE-1 and is a robot with a human-like appearance and an AI model that should be able to perform various tasks automatically.
Humanoid still in development
Neura Robotics currently has five robot models in its program, such as MAiRA, a cognitive robotic arm, MAV, a mobile transport robot for heavy loads, and MiPA, a human-like robot with a long robotic arm. This can be used in patient care. For example. However, MiPA is not yet on the market and 4NE-1 is still under development.
In its last financing round at the beginning of 2025, the company raised around 120 million euros for the development of its robots. In addition to Lingotto Investment Management, the backers included Blue Crest Capital Management, Volvo Cars Tech Fund and InterAlpen Partners.

The current target of one billion euros is likely to be correspondingly ambitious, but Neura Robotics is probably also aiming to make itself competitive against its well-funded competitors. For example, the car manufacturer Tesla, the Norwegian start-up 1X Technologies, which is supported by OpenAI, and the Californian company Figure AI, whose humanoid robot is now being used commercially for the first time. According to Bloomberg, Figure AI has set itself the goal of raising 40 billion US dollars in capital.
More details about the plans for the presumed upcoming financing round at Neura Robotics are not yet known. The company itself did not wish to comment on this. Some Bloomberg sources believe that a smaller amount than one billion could also be considered initially.
Meanwhile, the company has already received orders worth one billion euros, said CEO David Reger in January. Customers include Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Omron.
