Mercedes GLC EQ: This is what it should cost
Starting October 29, the Mercedes GLC EQ can be officially ordered. For now, it will be slightly more expensive than the BMW iX3.

BMW and Mercedes are taking different approaches to the launch of a new model. With the Bavarians, the configurator is usually activated on the day of the presentation, while Mercedes takes more time. Weeks after the premiere of the Mercedes GLC EQ, the official prices have now been published. The E-SUV can be ordered from October 29.
Majority towards 80,000 Euros
The configurator already offers the first discount, as the base model costs 67,717 Euros there. The official list price is 71,218 Euros, making it slightly above the BMW iX3. Mercedes presumably correctly assumes that this difference will play a subordinate role for the target group, especially since it is only the starting point in both E-SUVs. You quickly approach 80,000 Euros anyway, and of course, a significant overshoot is quite easily possible.
Charging with less voltage at an additional cost
Mercedes had to face a lot of criticism for the presentation of the CLA that the car can only be charged at DC charging stations with at least 800 Volts. The GLC EQ can also only be charged at 400-volt direct current sources if the customer invests an additional 655 Euros. AC charging with 22 kW also costs 655 Euros – 11 kW are standard.
It gets exciting with a range of digital extras. Some are limited in duration and must be extended for a fee afterwards. For certain extras in this area, Mercedes provides specific information about the duration in the configurator, for example, for "MBUX Entertainment," whose price of 226 Euros is valid for three years. The massage function (60 Euros) and MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation (500 Euros) currently have no time limit.

Of course, Mercedes also maintains the tactic of significantly increasing the price in some cases with some forced couplings. A head-up display is listed at 1250 Euros, but is only available together with the Advanced Plus package for 3570 Euros. Leather upholstery costs 2011 Euros, but automatically entails extras for 4117 Euros.
Base model to follow
There will be one or the other interested party who will wait. Because next year Mercedes will release further drive variants of the GLC EQ. As with BMW, we assume that the series will primarily be expanded downwards. In the iX3, the base model, which will follow next year, will probably cost between 60,000 and 62,000 Euros. The Audi Q6 e-tron currently costs at least 63,500 Euros. The entry-level model of the GLC EQ will most likely settle somewhere in this range.
