Xiaomi SU7 Facelift: Much fine-tuning in detail
The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled a revised version of the SU7. It is said to charge even faster than before.

Xiaomi is likely better known to many as a provider of smartphones than cars. However, the company has also been involved with electric cars for years. The SU7 sedan has very little competition in terms of performance and is capable of charging quickly. Now there has been a model update that has improved the car in some areas. There is no export from China yet, but that could well change.
The longest lighting
At around 5 m, the SU7 is about as long as a BMW i5. With the current model update, Xiaomi has done a lot of fine-tuning in detail. The seats are said to be more comfortable than before. Heating and ventilation for the seats are now standard, as is a length-adjustable seat base. Xiaomi claims to have improved insulation: the generous glazing now protects more effectively against the interior heating up, and it is said to be up to 4 dB/(A) quieter than before, according to the manufacturer. The continuous ambient lighting is 3.636 m long, the longest in its class. Hats off to the product argumentation – as far as I know, the competition has not yet come up with the idea of launching a competition in this regard.

CLTC and WLTP
Even before, the SU7 was one of the fastest electric cars on the market. Xiaomi promises a top speed of 265 km/h, which in China is only relevant on race tracks at best, and a time of 3.1 seconds in the standard sprint. Since the sedan is only offered in China, the consumption and range figures are only available in the Chinese measurement method CLTC. Apart from the range, Xiaomi only provides a figure for the combined consumption in CLTC of 11.7 kWh/100 km. Converted to WLTP, this would be around 14.3 kWh. We have also broken down the range again for better comparability:

Three batteries are still offered, which can charge at different speeds. According to the Chinese website, the two smaller batteries use a voltage level of 752 Volt. In the top model, it is 897 Volt. There, Xiaomi promises, 670 km of CLTC range can be added in 15 minutes. In the top model, the window between 10 and 80 percent can be closed in 15 minutes. This results in an average charging power of around 355 kW in this range. So, should Xiaomi decide to export the sedan at some point, it would be absolutely competitive in this regard, at least.
Xiaomi is not currently considering exporting the SU7.
