Porsche Cayenne Electric Coupé: More range in SUV format
Following the SUV, a fastback Cayenne is launched, marketed as a coupé. The car can charge and accelerate rapidly.

Porsche is expanding the Cayenne Electric series with what is known in the industry as an SUV Coupé. This will surely have its fans and, incidentally, offers a bit more range. Motor and charging performance underscore the segment in which the SUV operates.
Even larger than the Macan
Except for a slightly lower height, the dimensions of the SUV and coupé versions are similar. At almost five meters long, the Cayenne significantly exceeds the Macan (test). The wheelbase measures 3.02 m, so the space should be ample. The trunk holds 534 to 1347 liters; in the top Turbo model, it's 500 to 1313 liters. Additionally, all models have a front compartment with a respectable 90 liters.

Fast charging
All versions share the same battery specifications. The battery has 113 kWh gross; Porsche does not provide a net capacity. Thanks to an 800-volt system, charging can reach up to 390 kW, or even 400 kW under special conditions. Porsche promises that the 10 to 80 percent charge can be completed in 16 minutes under optimal conditions. Based on the gross energy content, this would correspond to an average charging power of almost 297 kW. AC charging at 11 kW is standard. Porsche offers 22 kW charging only as an option, costing an additional 1666 euros. The configurator also includes preparation for wireless charging at the parking spot.

Drivetrains
Three drivetrains are planned. As is typical of Porsche, even the entry-level model is generously motorized. The top model temporarily mobilizes 850 kW in boost mode, equivalent to 1156 PS. All-wheel drive is always standard; the fastback offers a few more kilometers of range in WLTP than the conventional SUV form.

Less weight on request
From the extensive options list, we highlight two notable extras. With the "Lightweight Sport Package," Porsche claims the weight is reduced by up to 17.6 kg. Given an unladen weight of at least 2.6 tons, faith in any significant advantage should be firmly rooted. This package costs between 8985 and 17,410 euros extra, depending on the model.

An off-road package for 1910 euros increases the breakover angle but is unlikely to shift the Cayenne Coupé's orientation significantly towards an off-road vehicle. At its core, Porsche has created a sports car in an SUV look, likely delivering exactly what the majority of customers expect. Whether this will help the Porsche brand in its current situation remains to be seen. However, the hopes Porsche has for the Cayenne are immense.
