Kickstarter: Wallet with integrated rechargeable "Where is?" tag
ESR aims to merge narrow AirTag-compatible trackers for items like ID cards and banknotes.

Backpacks with an integrated "Where is?" tracker have been around for some time, but providers are a little slow when it comes to smaller products. If you want to keep an eye on your wallet via the Apple Find network, for example, you either have to insert an AirTag or slide in one of the newer flat trackers, which are now also available as rechargeable devices. The Hong Kong company ESR has now launched a Kickstarter project to fund what it claims is the first wallet with "Where is?" built right in. The so-called Geo Wallet can even be recharged via a proprietary magnetic connection.
Enough space in the wallet
Visually, the wallet looks no different to a conventional wallet made from (vegan) leather. It is offered in seven color options, from grey to brown to beige. The tracking chip itself - which uses Bluetooth and not ultra-wideband, as only Apple's AirTags can do - is located on the left under a hinged card compartment. Next to it is a magnetic charging port. The tracker can be charged within two hours and should last up to five months at a time.

As usual, you are informed in the "Where is ?" app when the charge level is nearing its end. ESR, which already has two successful Kickstarter projects behind it, also emphasizes that the wallet itself is no different from regular wallets. It holds two ID cards, ten (US) banknotes, 15 (US) coins and seven credit or debit cards. An RFID blocker is also integrated, but this does not affect the "Where is?" function.
Comparatively inexpensive
ESR plans to offer the Geo Wallet from 41 dollars in advance, later it will cost 55 dollars. A tracker card such as the rechargeable one from Zike costs just under 32 euros plus shipping.
The Kickstarter target of just under 12,000 euros has already been reached, and the backing total currently stands at almost 75,000 euros. The Kickstarter phase still has 39 days to go and ESR's Geo Wallet is due to be delivered from September 2024. There are currently still various "Early Bird" places available. Discounted packages with two or more wallets are also being sold ("Family Pack").
