Skoda announces the price of its compact electric SUV model Elroq
Smaller than the electric Enyaq, but with plenty of space and a range of between 360 and 550 km, the Skoda Elroq is available for a base price of 33,900 euros.

Skoda is presenting an electric car model below the Enyaq, which is also powered exclusively by battery electricity. At the turn of the year, the Elroq will go on sale from 33,000 euros in Europe and from 33,900 euros for the Elroq 50 in Germany, according to the traditional Czech brand managed by the Volkswagen Group.
Large inside
At 4.48 meters, it is around 20 centimeters shorter than the Enyaq, but with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters, it promises a similar amount of space as the significantly larger Enyaq. Its trunk is said to offer 470 to 1580 liters. Both use the electric car modular system on which numerous other models such as the VW ID.4 (test) are based.

Three drive systems will be available at market launch: The entry-level model offers 125 kW and a 52-kWh battery for a range of 370 kilometers, while the top-of-the-range all-wheel drive model has 220 kW and a 77-kWh battery with a range of 560 kilometers (both in WLTP). All versions are listed in the table:
| Elroq 50 | Elroq 60 | Elroq 85 | Elroq 85x | |
| Battery kWh net | 52 | 59 | 77 | 77 |
| DC charging power kW | 125 | 125 | 175 | 175 |
| AC charging power kW | 11 | 11 | 11 | 11 |
| Charging time 10 - 80 percent | < 25 min | < 28 min | ||
| Motor power in kW | 125 | 150 | 210 | 220 |
| Drive | rear | rear | rear | all-wheel |
| Maximum speed km/h | 160 | 160 | 180 | 180 |
The top speed is 160 or 180 km/h, depending on the model, and Skoda specifies 125 or 175 kW as charging capacities. Elroq 85x and Elroq 85 should be able to be charged from ten to 80 percent in 28 minutes at best, Elroq 50 and 60 in 25 minutes.
Now with preconditioning
A new feature is battery preconditioning, which can be activated either automatically on the basis of route planning or manually. However, a 22 kW AC charger is still not available. This would make occasional charging on the road more worthwhile, for example.

The instrument cluster measures five inches, the screen in the middle 13 inches. A head-up display with augmented reality is available for an extra charge. Matrix light and adaptive cruise control are also on the list, and remote-controlled parking is also offered.

The basic Elroq 50 model with a 52-kWh battery will cost 33,900 euros in Germany; Skoda is accepting orders now. The development of the Skoda Epiq electric car model is already well advanced, which will be sold in a similar crossover style in an even smaller version from next year for between 25,000 and 30,000 euros.
