When new Macs and iPads arrive: These are the products Apple could bury
The next Apple event could start on November 1. Up to half a dozen products could be discontinued.

Apple currently has a lot of catching up to do with the Mac, but also with other product lines. So when new devices are released at the end of October or beginning of November, numerous older models will either be sold off at a lower price or disappear completely from the range. An overview of what Apple could discontinue in a few weeks.
Mac: From desktop to notebook
With the Mac, large parts of the current M3 models will soon be redundant when they are replaced by M4 machines. This applies to both desktop computers and mobile devices. With the iMac, the M3, introduced at the end of October 2023, will probably be replaced by an M4 (regular, i.e. without Pro and Max). The last Mac mini is still stuck with the M2 and M2 Pro and was launched in January 2023. It is likely to be replaced by a downsized M4 model – hopefully also with M4 Pro.
The MacBook Pro is nearing the end of three M4 product classes with M3 (14-inch), M3 Pro and M3 Max (14 and 16-inch). These also date from October 2023 and are to be replaced by M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max variants. However, a MacBook Air M4 is not yet expected; this is more likely to be released in spring 2025. The MBA M3 was released in March 2024.

iPad: Two or three new models?
The iPad mini series in particular is very outdated. The sixth generation was last overhauled in September 2021 and is likely to be released with a new interior at the end of October / beginning of November as the iPad mini 7 – and replace the iPad mini 6. The standard iPad (currently: generation 10) could also take off and be replaced by a (slightly) better internally equipped iPad 11.
This would mean that Apple would have overtaken all iPads this year, after there was not a single new model in 2023. Finally, there is still speculation about a new iPad Air, which would mean the end of the current iPad Air M2 – but this is also more likely to be due in the spring. The last release dates back to May 2024. An iPad Pro overhaul is not expected before 2025, as the professional tablet was only the first Apple device to receive the new M4 chip this year.
