iOS 18: These features will be missing at first
Once again, Apple is not ready with all the new features announced for its iPhone operating system. We will have to wait for these features.

It has recently become officially possible to test iOS 18 as a private user. However, the public beta does not include all the functions that Apple announced at WWDC 2024. Some will be added before the iOS 18 launch expected in September. However, Apple has already marked others as "coming later (this year)". These include some exciting innovations. Here is an overview of where users still have to be patient.
Apple Intelligence and innovations in Apple Mail
Probably the most important new feature in iOS 18, the suite of generative AI called Apple Intelligence, will only be made available as a beta in the fall and only in the US English language version. Apple has also threatened to postpone the launch in the EU for the time being due to uncertainties in connection with the Digital Markets Act- although European language versions, including British English, will not be available until next year anyway.
Indirectly, the slow rollout of Apple Intelligence also affects innovations in Apple Mail. In the future, messages will be automatically sorted by AI, for example into mailboxes for shopping or social media. It will also be possible to summarize content or create it in certain styles using AI - although this could already work in US English in September.
Smarter Siri
The revised Siri is in danger of falling completely behind. Apple has not yet revealed what exactly Siri will be able to do from the fall. However, there are serious rumors that it won't be ready until spring. Apple itself has already admitted that the voice assistant will not initially be able to interact with apps via AI or read the screen.
In connection with macOS 15 aka Sequoia, there will be a new iPhone mirroring feature that allows you to control your iOS device completely remotely from your Mac. The feature is already in beta testing, but convenient functions such as transferring files using drag & drop are still missing. However, iPhone Mirroring is one of the features that Apple is holding back anyway due to DMA regulations.
